After almost 4 years of battling cancer, Kimberlyn is tired. The cancer has stopped responding to treatment. She was given the option of entering a phase 1 trial, giving her a small chance of slowing the spread, but she's decided to not spend her last months in a clinic for hours on end. She's at peace with this decision, which is some comfort for me and our family.

Over the past year or so, since my last post about my wife, she’s been fighting. Fighting constantly. She’s had lung surgery, chemo, radiation, and who knows how many tests, scans, etc. As the chemo has stopped working, they’ve moved her to the trial phase of treatment.

For the second time in as many years, my wife entered the hospital for a "simple procedure" on her lungs. She's 0-2 for coming through simple procedures unscathed. Today was one week and two days following the procedure, and she was released from the hospital this afternoon...

This is another off-topic post, but it is very important to me. A lot of you chipped in last year and helped us through a very difficult time, so I feel like the occasional update is warranted.
