A Golden Celebration!

primary_post_image
“This is the true measure of love: when we believe that we alone can love, that no one could ever have loved so before us, and that no one will ever love in the same way after us.” ~ J.W. Goethe

They set the example

For their 50 years of marriage, my parents have embodied the preceding quote. I've never known them to even raise their voices to each other, though I'm sure they must have, right? Their love grew stronger every day. That's what I knew I wanted. So a few days before I turned 38, I asked Kimberlyn to marry me, fully intending to carry everything I had learned from my parents, into my marriage. We've been blessed beyond measure. I understand the feeling of waking each day, more in love than the day before and I have much of that to thank, to my parents.

THE INFLUENCE

This is why after being told over a year ago that my beautiful, young wife has cancer, we're still able to celebrate our lives. We don't know what the future holds, but we know we'll go through it together. We'll fight when we have to and rest when we can. Most of all, we will love like God envisioned us to love and hope to pass that on to our children.

THANKS

I really just wanted to say THANKS to mom and dad and congratulations to mom on retiring after many years of hard work. They are the example I hope to just reflect a small portion of. You mean the world to me, to us, and we love you both!
